Back again at this year’s fair is the fall market in the Antoine Landry room at the reception centre; as well as the sale of preserves, vegetables, cookies, wool, and other items at the Robin shed, both beginning at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

There will be an auction of livestock and products of all kinds from the farm and workshops of the VHA again this year. The auction will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Frenette Post House (Post House I), with two well-known emcees, Jean-Claude Doiron and Dominique Breau.

Pascal Lejeune is an Acadian artist and his music is without borders. His skill at writing and creating melodies make him one of the most interesting young artists on the French-Canadian stage. A great sense of humour coupled with poetry… this man seduces the crowds with his own brand of style. He’s an atypical, yet universal singer! He has two albums: Adélaïde (2009) produced by Yves Desrosiers and Le commun des bordels (2007). July 19th 2010 - Thériault General Store is now open!

July 15th 2010 - Everything is for sale at Thériault General Store

Visitors to the Village Historique Acadien (VHA) will be able to obtain various products from another era as of Sunday, July 18, the opening date of the Nicholas D. Thériault General Store.
The Thériault General Store is located in the 20th century section of the VHA. It is unique in that not only are the contents on exhibit, they can also be purchased, making it one of the rare stores on an historic site in North America. Various items will be for sale, including square nails, flour, porcelain dolls, and cast iron frying pans.

For the store opening, some characters straight out of the past will be there to give ceremonial speeches congratulating Nicholas Thériault on his initiative to provide his village with one of the most modern stores in the province. In addition to Senator Turgeon, the business representative for the Salada company will be on hand to boast of the merits of his tea as compared with the "dreadful" King Cole tea. The parish priest will give his usual blessing. Free candy will be given to the children, and adults will be treated to "pijoune" (a kind of hot herbal tonic).
